Hello, I'm new to eBay and I'd like to share a weird situation. I wanted to buy a product worth about $150. But the seller refuses to sell the product because it's my first purchase on eBay. He suggests I ask someone else to make the purchase for me, since he only deals with buyers who have already bought 5 or 6 products. I'm questioning this practice. Imagine if all sellers communicated this same response?

·2 years agoIn theory, sellers don't have the right to refuse to sell a listed item. If they do, they're getting around the system and cancelling the order. On eBay, all you have to do is buy it; you don't need to contact the sellers. If the seller cancels using the false reason 'problem with the address' or 'the buyer asks to cancel', you can contact eBay; they can't force the seller to ship, but they can give their account a strike. That will affect their placement in searches. Anyway, if a seller doesn't want to sell to you simply because you're new, you shouldn't want to do business with them; they're not good sellers.
