Nationwide work stoppage at Canada Post
Summary: The discussion is about a nationwide work stoppage at Canada Post, mentioned by seller_news_team, and it prompted a response from ferlac04. No additional details are provided in their respective exchanges.
As you probably know, Canada Post services will be affected by a nationwide work stoppage as of May 23, 2025. This situation affects all parcels and mail currently in the Canada Post network.
This labor action could have an impact on shipments within Canada and on sellers’ operations in Canada. However, eBay continues to operate, and buyers can still browse and buy items as usual. Please note that Canada Post services have been temporarily removed from the eBay label experience.
In our previous communication to sellers, we shared some steps you can take. If you haven’t already, consider enabling local pickup for buyers in your area.
eBay is also taking steps to protect sellers. We have extended estimated delivery times for buyers and improved protections against item not received disputes. In addition, we will take steps to automatically protect your account against defects, including in the following cases:
- Defects related to late shipment
- Valid tracking information upload rate
- Negative or neutral feedback (provided that you uploaded tracking information and the package was scanned by the carrier before the claim was opened)
- Seller-initiated cancellations
Please note that you must upload a valid tracking number to benefit from these enhanced protections.
We will continue to share updates with the eBay Community and we invite you to check the Canada Post website for more details.
As always, thank you for selling on eBay.
