Important notice: the sale of air cushions is no longer allowed on eBay
Summary: Starting September 24, 2026, eBay will ban the sale of airbags and inflator devices in order to reduce risks to users. This ban applies to all parts in this category, with the exception of certain electronic modules and sensors that may be sold outside the United States or by authorized sellers. Sellers are encouraged to remove listings for these products within 30 days, after which eBay will remove them automatically, without any negative impact on their compliance record. The eBay team is offering assistance to help sellers adapt to this new policy.
Starting on September 24, 2026, it will be prohibited for any seller to display or sell airbags and inflators on eBay. All products in the airbag category are subject to this policy. This decision comes from a thorough review of the risks associated with these products for our users.
Which items are prohibited on eBay?
It is now prohibited to list the following parts separately:
Airbags
Inflators (gas generators)
Steering wheel covers
Outside the United States, sellers may continue to list authorized airbag parts (listed below). In the United States, only pre-authorized sellers may continue selling these parts:
Airbag electronic control modules
Crash sensors (impact detectors)
Diagnostic modules
Passenger-side impact detectors
Actions to take
Review your active, scheduled, or draft listings in the affected categories.
Remove any listing for the products listed above before September 24, 2026.
You have 30 days to comply with this new policy. After September 24, 2026, eBay will remove any affected listing that has not been taken down. Removing your listings (whether by you or by eBay) as part of this policy change will not harm your account's compliance record. Relisting these items could, however, result in restrictions on your seller account.
