Latest news on U.S. tariffs - April 3
Summary: The discussion concerns the latest news on U.S. tariffs, but no additional content is provided by seller_news_team or mas-323910. The topic remains undeveloped in the messages.
We are closely monitoring the impact of changes to U.S. regulations and tariffs on buying and selling activity on eBay.
According to the latest news, as of April 3, 2025, at 12:01 a.m. (Eastern Time), buyers in the United States will have to pay additional customs duties on most orders over $800. They may also be asked to provide personal information to help clear their orders through customs.
At eBay, our priority is to quickly provide sellers with accurate information to help them understand the scope of the new U.S. orders and comply with the new requirements. Therefore, to ensure a smooth cross-border shipping experience, we strongly recommend that sellers take the following steps:
- Make sure the item location shown in your listings is accurate.
- Provide accurate information in your customs declarations.
It is important to note that deliveries may be delayed due to U.S. customs procedures. In the event of a customs delay, we will take the necessary steps to automatically remove defects and adjust your late shipment rate when valid tracking information indicates that these issues are directly related to systemic shipping delays. To learn more, see our Defect Removal Policy.
Information related to customs duties, import fees, and contact details is usually collected by carriers once the buyer has completed their transaction on eBay. These are not included in the prices shown on eBay, but buyers are responsible for paying any customs duties on their orders. If buyers leave you negative or neutral feedback because of fees or delays attributable to customs clearance, we will take care of removing it. To learn more, see the Feedback Policy.
Please stay tuned for our updates.
Thank you for your loyalty to the eBay Community.

·1 year agoThe seller’s response doesn’t sit right with me. His listing was incorrect because I would never have bought this product. It was his mistake. He should acknowledge it and refund me.
Sincerely, François Masson
