Update 06/03: The United States government has announced that the tariffs mentioned below have been suspended until April 2, 2025. eBay Canada will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide relevant information through the eBay community.
On March 4, 2025, the United States government implemented additional 25% tariffs on all goods produced in Canada and Mexico, effective immediately. At this time, the de minimis threshold for U.S. imports remains in effect. In other words, new tariffs will apply to goods valued at US$800 or more produced in Canada or Mexico and sold to buyers in the United States, regardless of their condition.
At eBay, our priority is to quickly provide sellers with accurate information to help them understand the scope of the new U.S. orders and comply with the new requirements. As a result, to ensure a smooth cross-border shipping experience, we strongly recommend that sellers take the following steps:
- Make sure the item location shown in your listings is accurate.
- Include Harmonized System code information and country of manufacture in your customs declarations.
Please know that we are closely monitoring any changes in cross-border shipping and customs clearance procedures. In the event of customs delays, we will take the necessary steps to automatically remove defects and adjust your late shipment rate when valid tracking information indicates that these issues are directly related to systemic shipping delays.
