Update regarding possible union action at Canada Post
Summary: seller_news_team announced that there is no new information regarding possible union action at Postes.
At the end of last year, following the November and December strikes, the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) issued a six-month order aimed at temporarily restoring Canada Post services. This order will expire on May 22, 2025. If no agreement is reached between Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) by then, Canada Post could experience another nationwide work stoppage.
eBay Canada is doing everything it can to minimize the possible impact of such a situation on your business.
We encourage sellers to be proactive and take the necessary steps to help ensure their business on eBay runs smoothly in the event of a work stoppage at Canada Post.
- Offer other shipping options. Whenever possible, add other shipping services to your listings. Don’t forget that you have access to eBay’s negotiated discounted rates for UPS and FedEx services with eBay labels.
- Clearly state your shipping service. Buyers may hesitate to buy an item if they don’t know which shipping service is being used. We suggest including this information in your listing so buyers can feel confident they’ll receive their item on time.
