Update on U.S. tariffs: new rates between the United States and Canada
Since August 22, 2026, the United States has imposed additional 50 % tariffs on certain Canadian products shipped to the United States, including certain vehicles and certain auto parts. Note that the new 50 % tariffs will apply to goods that were previously eligible for duty-free treatment under the Canada–United States–Mexico Agreement (CUSMA). In response, as of September 8, 2026, Canada will impose tariffs of 15 %, 25 % and 50 % on certain U.S.-origin products. This measure covers the following categories in particular: beauty products, clothing, household items (such as dishes, cutlery, appliances, etc.), textile products, lighting and fixtures.
We will continue to monitor these changes and will keep you updated as needed.
