New statuses for used clothing
Summary: seller_news_team announces the topic about the new conditions for second-hand clothing, but hasn’t provided any details or answers yet. The theme seems to focus on upcoming changes in the second-hand clothing space.
We’re convinced of the benefits of selling and buying pre-owned clothing, as well as their positive impact on the environment. To simplify your selling experience and eliminate any hesitation buyers may have when purchasing pre-owned clothing, we’ve added new item condition options for pre-owned clothing listings.
Three new conditions for pre-owned clothing
Previously, only the Used condition was available when listing pre-owned clothing. As of February 4, 2025, you’ll have three options to choose from: Used – Excellent, Used – Good, and Used – Acceptable. In addition, the New with defects condition will be renamed New with imperfections.
See the table below for a detailed description of these conditions.
|
Used – Excellent |
Like new, already worn, with little or no signs of wear. This item has been worn before, but is in excellent condition. Any signs of wear should be shown and described in the seller’s listing. |
|
Used – Good |
Slightly used with light signs of wear or visible defects. This item has been somewhat used, but is in good condition. It may show some signs of wear, but all imperfections must be shown and described in the seller’s listing. |
|
Used – Acceptable |
Clearly visible defects, significant signs of wear, or missing or damaged parts. This item has clearly visible imperfections and signs of wear. All imperfections must be shown and described in the seller’s listing. |

With these new options, your buyers will better understand the condition of your item, which will reduce the risk of returns due to condition-related issues.
Learn how to optimize your pre-owned clothing listings!
As of February 4, you’ll be able to use the new item conditions to create or revise pre-owned clothing listings. Here’s what you need to know:
- All your existing clothing listings with the Used condition will automatically be updated on that date and will show the Used – Good condition.
- You’ll need to review these listings to make sure the condition matches each item exactly and, if needed, edit them individually or all at once.
- You’ll also be able to access the new conditions in third-party listing management tools.
Get ahead of the game and review your listings to determine which new condition best fits each item.
When the new conditions become available, please revise your listings as soon as possible. Item condition accuracy is essential to minimize the number of returns and to ensure your listings appear in the correct search category.
