We’re seeing an increase in phishing emails targeting online buyers and sellers. Some of these messages are very convincing and can be hard to identify as phishing attempts.
To keep protecting your account and your information, we recommend that you:
check links before clicking on them;
never enter sensitive or confidential information on external websites;
always verify the website address when a page asks you to provide personal information;
never allow another person to access your eBay account.
If in doubt, contact eBay directly to verify whether the request is legitimate. If you want to report a suspicious email claiming to be from eBay, you can forward it as an attachment to the following address: spoof@ebay.com.
